Niger Coup: Don’t Start What You Can’t Finish– Rtd Gen Warns Tinubu

Chief Bode George has joined the numerous concerned citizens to admonish President Bola Tinubu not to use military power on the Niger Republic.

Chief George stated this while maintaining that the country has nothing to gain from invading the Niger Republic in the name of defending democracy while people are dying at home.

It would be recalled that President Bola Tinubu requested that the National Assembly approve the use of military power to restore democracy in the Niger Republic. Although, the movie has been met with a lot of backlash against such a measure, a series of people have continued to express their thoughts on the developments.

Consequently, Chief Bode George has also advised President Tinubu not to force Nigeria into an endless war.

“Niger is one of the largest (land border) countries in the world and also one of the poorest. What exactly do we gain if we go to war in Niger? What? So that people can praise us as a defender of democracy? When people are dying at home, do we need that type of commendation from anybody?

“I am a retired General. So, I know that war is not easy. Please, don’t force Nigerians to engage in an endless war”
