The chairman of the five-man panel, Justice Harunna Tsammani, held that it was unacceptable for the lawyer to give reasons for their objection after the commission had indicated that it would advance reasons at the address stage of proceedings.
Peter Obi and the Vice Presidential candidate of LP, Datti Baba Ahmed, alongside the leaders of the Party, were in the court, to witness the proceedings.
It directed the counsels to consult their clients and report back the outcome of the meeting.
The judge ruled that the party’s failure to submit its membership register to the INEC within 30 days before their primaries made the process null and void.
When the matter was called, Obi stood up to announce his appearance followed by Dudu Manuga, the National Women’s Leader of the Party who sat close to Obi.
According to him, Apapa has always thought that the inauguration “may not have any impact on the ongoing legal tussle on the presidential election involving our party, APC and INEC.”
He stated this during the unveiling of the book, ‘Peter Obi: many voices, one perspective’ in Anambra State.
The decision for the adjournment was made following the request by the parties to the petition.
INEC had on February 27 declared the election inconclusive, saying that elections didn’t take place in parts of Njaba LGA.
This occurs while the 29th of May is fast approaching for the inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
His archrival Atiku Abubakar made this development known in a new suit filed before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal for the 2023 polls.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared that Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to win the election.
He was, therefore, warned to stay away from the Commission till further notice.
The supplementary elections are taking place in some constituencies in the seven affected LGAs in Ebonyi, including Abakaliki, Afikpo North, Afikpo South, Ezza North, Ezza South, Ikwo, and Ivo.
Cole had insisted that he and his team would visit the INEC office on Tuesday to continue their demand.
Several candidates who lost in the elections have filed petitions at the presidential and state election petition tribunals to challenge the outcome of the polls.
Although governor Okezie Ikpeazu, had congratulated Otti, and urged the candidates who lost in the election not to challenge the outcome of the election to avoid distractions to the incoming governor, but the PDP State Working Committee acted otherwise.

The protesters also urged the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to put in place an interim government before he leaves office on May 29.
Mr. Obi also alleged that Mr. Tinubu failed to win the majority of the lawful votes cast in the election, and just as he could not secure one-quarter of the lawful votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
