Israel Vs Hamas: [Updates]: Palestinians flee as Crisis Intensify in Gaza

Thousands of Palestinians are currently vacating North Gaza to move southward as Israeli tanks roll deeper into the enclave, amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, in the central Gaza Strip.

This is as ground battles and air strikes continued overnight in Gaza.

Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest, is totally surrounded, its director, Mohammad Abu Salmiya, said late Saturday.

The Israeli military said Saturday it would help to evacuate babies Sunday from Shifa Hospital, where there is an intense humanitarian crisis.

“We will provide the assistance needed,” chief Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said Saturday.

Two babies died Saturday at Shifa and dozens more were at risk when fuel for the generators ran out.

“Medical devices stopped. Patients, especially those in intensive care, started to die,” Shifa Hospital Director Mohammed Abu Selmia said by phone with gunfire and explosions heard in the background.

It was not immediately clear if the continued overnight fighting would have any effect on the planned evacuation of the infants. (Reuters/VOA)
