Governor Soludo Commiserates With Nollywood Following Tragic Boat Accident

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has expressed his deep sorrow over the recent boat tragedy that claimed the lives of several members of the Nollywood community, including the promising actor Junior Pope.

Governor Soludo stressed the critical need for enhanced safety measures in Nigeria’s water transportation sector, such as the use of life jackets, employment of lifeguards, and the availability of first aid like CPR for victims. He emphasized that adhering to these safety precautions is essential to prevent future tragedies, particularly for those in the entertainment industry who frequently work near or on water.

Further extending his support, Governor Soludo reiterated his commitment to the development of the creative and entertainment sectors in Anambra State. His administration is actively working on several projects to boost tourism and economic activities, including building the “Solution Fun City” in Awka, remodeling Agulu Lake into a tourist attraction, and modernizing the local water transportation system.

Concluding his message, Governor Soludo offered prayers for the deceased and conveyed his condolences to their families, friends, and colleagues, hoping they find comfort in their fond memories of the lost ones.
