Desmond Elliot backs down after being attacked by many Nigerian celebrities on social media

After a movie producer, actor, film director and politician, Desmond Elliot made a speech on the floor of the Lagos State House of Assembly where he referred to Nigerian youths as “children,” responses, agitations, reservations, critiques, talks and the like thrills social media.

Series of criticism has been received by the Honourable representing surulere constituency, backlashes over his words referring to the youths of Nigerian as children, many Celebrities trop out in their numbers to openly disagree, respond and condemn him.

The likes of Davido, Don Jazzy, Simi, Tekno, Rita Dominic and other famous celebrities took to the social media to share their frustration and grievances with the man of the state.

However, Desmond Elliot has apologized to youth across Nigeria for his earlier statement blames emotion for speaking in such a manner. He made this known via his Twitter handle.

” I have read your honest feedback and suggestions and I sincerely apologize for addressing the youth as ” children”

” I didn’t mean to be insensitive with this, it was born out of the magnitude of destruction and looting of businesses I witnessed when I went on a tour of my contituency”

” I saw women crying and my constituency members distraught as a result of the damages inflicted on their source of livelihood. I was moved by this while given my submission on the floor of the house”

” I allowed my emotions get the better of me and for this I apologize to everyone my earlier statement may have hurt”
