Death Toll Hits 60, Over 150 Injured in Moscow Concert Hall Mass Shooting

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has announced a devastating terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, situated near Moscow, resulting in the tragic loss of 60 lives and leaving more than 150 people injured.

The attack, which occurred on March 22, 2024, has been reported by TASS News, quoting the FSB’s preliminary data on the casualties and injuries sustained during the assault.

Crocus City Hall, a prominent venue known for hosting a variety of events, came under attack by gunmen dressed in combat attire. The assailants, armed with assault rifles, launched an assault on the visitors and a concert hall within the complex, employing firearms and explosives in their attack. The violence led to the outbreak of a fire within the concert hall, further escalating the catastrophe.

This attack was not entirely unforeseen, as warnings of potential extremist actions targeting Moscow had been issued earlier in the month. Specifically, on March 8, the United States Embassy in Moscow had alerted the public to the possibility of attacks within the city, predicting such events could transpire within 48 hours of the warning.
