Anambra-Born Female Rugby Star, Princess Ugonwaezeh-Agugo Takes Nigeria to the Global Stage

In a groundbreaking achievement, Nigerian Sports Administrator, Princess Alban Ugonwaeze-Agugo has distinguished herself on the global stage.
Princess Ugonwaezeh-Agugo is one of only four African scholars and 25 worldwide selected to study International Sports Management with Capgemini.

She has made history as the first Nigerian recognized by World Rugby, earning a fully sponsored trip to the Rugby World Cup in England in 2025.

From Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State to the world, the 37-year-old Alban Ugonwaezeh-Agugo has already secured a similar scholarship this year from Rugby Africa to study Sports Management at Lunex University in Luxembourg, a first for any Nigerian at the African level.

Princess Alban Ugonwaezeh-Agugo is a Board Member and Chair of the Sponsorship and Marketing Committee of the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation NRFF.

Meanwhile, as a distinguished scholar and Sports Administrator, Princess Ugonwaezeh-Agugo holds a bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees, and numerous certificates from prestigious institutions around the world.

Her recognition by World Rugby marks a significant milestone, establishing her as a trailblazer for Nigerian Sports Administrators on the Global scene.
