AIRS: Dr. Mmadubuko, Focus Initiative Against Touting, Storms Onitsha Markets
In line with the Solution government’s vision to massively develop Anambra State by ensuring that people’s tax works for them and to put a stop to the illegal collection of levies by touts, the Executive Director Operations, and other revenue, Dr. C.C Madubuko, led the Focus Initiative Against Touting to an unscheduled visit to some markets in Onitsha.
The registered organization against touting in any form visited the markets yesterday to ensure compliance with the payment of market levies by the traders.
Speaking to the leadership of the markets simultaneously, Dr. CC Madubuko urged them to ensure that all market revenues that are due to the state government, are collected electronically in line with Governor Soludo’s vision of digitalizing revenue payments to avoid diversions.
He emphasized that there wouldn’t be sacred cows and that no stone would be left unturned in the revenue drive to aid the governor’s current developmental speed.
Dr . C. C. Madubuko also used the occasion to warn all touts to leave the state or embrace the opportunities provided by the state government to train & empower the youths in various skills of their choice.
Some of the markets visited were, Relief Market Ogbaru, Ogbo Ogwu Market bridgehead, and International Textile Market (Ogbo Abada).
