That popular rhyme taught in school on Hiroshima and Nagasaki has remained indelible to many who have read, seen, or experienced any form of crisis. When in a history or Government Subject Class, a teacher takes students down memory lane to the 1939-1945 World War II horrors, narrating the pragmatic display of man’s inhumanity to man, scripting boldly on the teaching board, “Warsaw Saw War and Swore Never to War Again.” No one even the least student in the class in their academic slumber would wake up at the historical narrative of that ugly incident in human existence.
Many beautiful souls, talents, and cities had been brought down by humans waging wars for several reasons including power, freedom, and fame, among others. No matter what the aim or reason for war could be, no one is justifiable enough to take another person’s life regardless of the circumstances surrounding their actions.
About three years and counting, Russia invaded Ukraine, a war premeditated by Putin and presumedly calculated to end in two weeks, a sequel to the annihilation of President Zelensky’s side.
It’s now seven months and counting that an unprecedented ordeal befell Israel, when Hamas on October 7, 2023, rained terror on the Israeli citizens, consequently leading to the death of over 1, 407 civilians including women and children. The indelible attack by Hamas triggered counter-attacks by Israel which would later bring about a full-blown battle between Israel and Hamas fighters.
Over thirty thousand people and property of immeasurable cost have been lost since the eruption of the war, while millions of people are internally displayed.
Hearts wreck at the sight of once beautiful cities that are now brought down with ballistic missiles launched into them by warring nations.
Zeyton neighborhood of Gaza had fallen to war amidst the growing attacks. This is as Gaza continues to count their losses, even as the crisis between Hamas and Israel lingers.
Most beautiful cities in Gaza have been brought down, while several others are on the verge of collapse as the crisis lingers.
