Davies added, “What he agreed to do was not simply expedient in the clinical interests of his daughter, Sonia, it was exploitation, it was criminal. It is no defence to say he acted out of love for his daughter.”
The judge, Justice Jeremy Johnson, will pass a sentence at a later date, The Guardian UK reports.
Recall that the court had earlier described facts leading to the continued detention of the former deputy Senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, as pathetic and heart-rending.
Sonia, Ekweremadu’s daughter, was also charged with conspiracy to arrange the travel of another person with a view to harvesting the person’s organ for her benefit.
