Nigerian Superstar, Davido Clears the Air on Alleged Arrest Rumors in Uganda

Nigerian Afrobeat sensation David Adedeji Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has put to rest the swirling rumors about his alleged arrest in Uganda.

The rumors, which claimed that the singer was arrested following his concert in Uganda due to a supposed drug-related offence, have been debunked as entirely false by Davido himself.

In a press statement released on Tuesday, Davido emphasized that the allegations were baseless and seemed to be a ploy to garner social media traction. He reassured his fans, stating, “I want to assure my fans that these reports are entirely untrue.” The singer further clarified that he has concluded his performances in Uganda and Kenya as part of his world tour and is now back in Nigeria.

Davido expressed his dismay over the reports, highlighting his clean record: “I have never been arrested by anyone in any country for any crime in the world.” He emphasized the irresponsible nature of such fabrications, especially under the guise of ‘April Fools,’ and revealed that his legal team is exploring options to address the false publications that have targeted his reputation.

Concluding his statement, Davido thanked his fans for their unwavering support and reiterated his love for them. He emphasized that his blessings are divine, aiming to put the entire episode behind him and focus on his music and fans.
