Imo Again: Police Reveal Findings as Robbers In Army Camouflage Attack Security, Shops, Others

No fewer than five heavily armed robbers yesterday, attacked the popular Gold Wise Shop, opposite Kilimanjaro Fast Food, at Ikegbu Owerri, in Imo State.

The dastardly robbery attack reportedly occurred in the late hours of the morning when the residents were busy with the general sanitation exercise in the state.

According to the report by the police, the robbers, numbering about Five(5)on Saturday attires, fully Armed to the teeth, stormed the shop with a Sienna vehicle where they first shot dead one of the police on duty.

Today is the last Saturday of the month slated to be the monthly Envwere Environment Sanitation Exercise in Imo State. Many businesses/shops were not open at 11: 30 AM although the movement was restricted until around 10: Am when the exercise was supposed to stop.
Between 11:30 Am and 12:00 PM, the movement of people was still scanty around Ikenegbu and Armed Robbers in Army camouflage and black vehicles attacked GOLD WISE SHOP where gold ornament and jewelry are sold.

FINDINGS:

< The Robbers with Sienna vehicle, numbering about Five(5)on security attires stormed the shop,fully Armed to the teeth.

< They first shot the Police officer online at the jewelry building and gained entrance to the shop.

< They loaded two(2)full bags containing gold ornaments and jewelries before they zoomed off.

< Luck ran against them as all the exit roads and corners were blocked with cars by young men who were aware of the robbery.

< A Police Officer with rifle on an errand, then f!red at the driver on the head which brought their vehicle to a halt.

< The Robbers took to their heels for their safety leaving what they stole and started shooting in return.

< Two(2) of the Robbers were captured, two(2) escaped and one d!ed at the spot(the driver).

< They were taken to the State Police Command, Owerri.
