BREAKING:Ukraine Launching New Embassies Across Africa to Counter Russia

Ukraine is expanding its diplomatic footprint in Africa by opening new embassies, including recently inaugurated ones in Ivory Coast and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This move is part of Ukraine’s strategy to enhance its presence on the continent and counterbalance Russia’s influence. The initiative, as articulated by Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Maksym Subkh, is a direct mandate from President Volodymyr Zelensky aimed at extending Ukraine’s diplomatic engagements across Africa. The opening of these embassies marks a significant step in the development of Ukraine’s international relations, particularly with African nations.

During the embassy opening in Ivory Coast’s economic hub, Subkh highlighted the global ramifications of the conflict in Ukraine, notably the surge in food prices which has severely affected millions of African families. He also expressed gratitude towards Ivory Coast for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially through its affirmative votes on crucial United Nations resolutions against Russia’s full-scale invasion that began in February 2022.

Subkh’s diplomatic tour will continue as he is scheduled to visit Ghana, Mozambique, Botswana, and Rwanda to inaugurate additional embassies, showing Ukraine’s commitment to strengthening ties with African countries during these turbulent times.
