BIAFRA: Finnish Police Arrest Self-Acclaimed Biafran Spokesperson, Simon Ekpa

A self-acclaimed Spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Simon Ekpa has been arrested by the Finnish police.

The arrest of Mazi Ekpa is a sequel to the various allegations that he is deeply involved in the perpetual unrest in the South-Eastern region of Nigeria.

According to the Finnish daily Helsingin Sanoma, Simon Ekpa was taken into custody by plain-clothes police officers shortly before he was due to be interviewed by a filmmaker at his residence in Lahti, southern Finland.

Although the reason for Ekpa’s arrest could not be ascertained at the time of this report, the paper said the so-called Biafran Spokesperson might face prolonged interrogations, with officers saying they were only doing their job on the matter.

The arrest comes as Mazi Ekpa intensifies efforts to frustrate the Nigerian presidential elections scheduled for February 25.

37 years, Ekpa came to the limelight following the abduction and extraordinary rendition of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The Finland-based purported Biafran activist has over time been accused of conspiracies, following his several suspicious failed roles, including the five days Sit-At-Home orders he issued the late last year’s December 2022.

Recall that an Idealist group popularly known as Ãnonymous has severally warned the people of the former country to be wary of the roles of Mazi Ekpa.

The group has further revealed times and dates that Mazi Ekpa soiled his hands on bribes to destroy the Biafra restoration.
