20M Bounty: Nigerian Police Nabs Notorious Kidnap Kingpin in FCT

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police have successfully arrested Samaila Wakili Fafa, known by his alias Habu Ibrahim, a kidnap kingpin on the wanted list of the command.

This arrest, announced by the police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, on Tuesday, took place on February 24, 2024, during a targeted operation in Sardauna Forest, Toto, Nasarawa State.

Wakili’s capture marks a critical achievement for the FCT Police, as he was one of the top two kidnappers identified by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, with a substantial bounty of N20m set for information leading to their capture.

This operation follows the earlier arrest of the other key suspect, Saidu Abdulkadir, also known as Dahiru Adamu, further intensifying the crackdown on kidnapping activities in the region.

During interrogation, Wakili confessed to leading a syndicate responsible for numerous high-profile kidnappings within the FCT and surrounding areas.

Among their heinous acts was the abduction and subsequent murder of Barr Chris Agidy, a legal aide to Senator Ned Nwoko, and Mr. Sunday Yahaya Zakwai, the district head of Ketti Village. In a chilling revelation, Wakili led the police to the location of Barr Chris Agidy’s remains, which were then recovered and taken to Gwagwalada General Hospital.
