The Lagos State Government has taken the demolition of illegal structures started earlier in other parts of the state including Ikota in Lekki, among others to Festac Phase 2, and Abule Ado
According to live clips of the ongoing demolition, it was learned that residents and owners are currently incapacitated amid the scenario.
Those of Festac Phase 2 and Abule Ado have joined the residents of the Greenland Residential among other areas who are currently counting the extent of losses following the continued demolition of illegal buildings by the State Government.
It was also observed that uniformed men mounted at strategic positions at the estate, while lorries conveyed the scraps out of the estate.
It was also confirmed by residents that owners of the affected structures had been served a series of contravention notices before the commencement of the exercise.
Consequently, the estate managers as well as some affected residents refused to talk to the press.
