Tinubu Suspends CBN Gov, Emefiele

President Bola Tinubu has suspended Godwin Emefiele as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor.

The Director of Information announced his suspension in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation OSGF (OSGF), Willie Bassey.

Recall that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, Mr. Emefiele was the instrumentality behind the initiation of the then New Naira Policy before the 2023 general election.

The policy which plunged most Nigerians into severe suffering and hardship was allegedly used to achieve a political purpose as it was later after the accomplishments of their purported target reversed without explanation.

Sequel to the development, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu has suspended Mr. Godwin Emefiele.
