RE: ANAMBRA COMMUNITY ACCUSES PRESIDENT GENERAL OF RUNNING PRIVATE MILITIA

Our attention has been drawn to misleading, false, and malicious allegations made by one Ifeanyi Ndulue, a self-acclaimed personal secretary to HRH. Mike Chidozie OkekeUche the Traditional Ruler of Enugwu-Agidi, a Community in Njikoka LGA, Anambra State and published by one Joe Chukindi on Daily-Post on the 8th day of May 2024. against Hon. Amb. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah the President General (PG) of the Community for running a “private militia”.

It’s pertinent to note at this juncture that there are no private militia operating in and around Enugwu-Agidi, save for a few persons who are well-known notorious IPOB/ESN Members engaged and armed by the Igwe-In-Council, and three amongst them have been arrested and in the custody of the Nigerian Police while investigations are on-going.

Again, Enugwu-Agidi like every other community in Anambra State, have their own Local Vigilante Group recognized by the State Government, and members having been selected by the ten (10) villages that make up the Community, scrutinized by the Security Council of Enugwu-Agidi where the Igwe and the President General are both Chairman and Secretary respectively and the selected persons after proper considerations were submitted to the Anambra State Government for approval by the Igwe himself.

The tussle between the PG and Igwe ensued when Igwe Mike Okekeuche tried to smuggle in the names of three (3) IPOB AND ESN members into the Official Enugwu-Agidi Vigilante Group being organized as requested by the Governor to help check the rising insecurity in the State in His Excellency’s words, “IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING”.

The 3 IPOB and ESN members have been working for Igwe  Mike Okekeuche for over 7 years since he received his certificate of recognition as the Igwe.

There had been successive kidnap cases in Enugwu Agidi ever since that went without reprisals. The PG invited The Nigerian Police Force for an investigative operation and as expected, illegal firearms, IPOB flags, ESN membership cards, and those of the army were recovered and those arrested, confessed to having knowledge of the third member owning an AK47 Z rifle, for the records, the matter is being investigated by FIB IRT Abuja, the exhibits are there and more exhibits will soon follow as the one who kept possession of the AK47 has agreed to submit it to the Police.

It’s on record that on several occasions the Traditional Ruler of Enugwu-Agidi has written over nineteen (19) criminal petitions to the Nigerian Police Force against the President General, from the eve of his being elected President General on December 29, 2022 to date and upon investigation all were found to be FALSE. The President General in turn and for the sake of peace and reverence to the THRONE chose not to apply for Criminal Defamation against the Throne. However, the PG is determined to end the business as usual of the incessant kidnap of our people and those plying our roads to neighboring Communities.

The allegations against the hard-working PG are a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation as it was alleged that the Igwe vowed to have the PG removed from office at all costs by the Anambra State Government since the Igwe’s plans to eliminate him has failed as his hitmen couldn’t make the vigilante list so they will have an easy cover if they assassinate the PG. Some government officials are aware of this matter, The chairman of Njikoka LGA, SA Homeland Security, and The Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, RRS Awkuzu, and the Anti-Cult Ukpo.

Enugwu-Agidi Community and its people are peace-loving, responsible, and hardworking. Creating unnecessary tension where none exists, is demonic and must be abhorred, condemned, and relegated to the bins by One and Every rational mind.

We plead with The Anambra State Governor, HE Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to investigate this matter and take the required necessary actions to ensure that there is peace and safety in Enugwu Agidi and that there will not be another assassination of a PG as many have been murdered in cold blood in neighboring Communities like Nimo, Umuoji, etc.

When PG Hon Ebuka Onuora was contacted to comment, he declined to make any public speech and advised that anybody interested in knowing the truth/facts should contact the FIB IRT Abuja.
