PDP Governors To Hold Emergency Meeting After NWC Massive Resignations
Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have scheduled an emergency meeting to discuss the affairs of the party.
Naija News reports that some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP on Tuesday tendered their resignation letter.
The members that resigned explained they could no longer work with the party’s current NWC.
Those who resigned include: the Deputy National Financial Secretary, Deputy Legal Adviser, Deputy National Auditor, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Deputy Women Leader, and Deputy Organising Secretary.
They however added that they remain loyal to the party despite resigning from their positions.
Reacting in a statement, the PDP Governors’ Forum expressed regrets and sadness over the recent rumblings in the party.
The Governors called on all members of the party and stakeholders to remain calm in the face of the developments.
“The forum pleaded with all aggrieved persons and those with the interest of the PDP at heart to keep their gun powder dry, as efforts are being made in consultation with members of the PDP Board of Trustees and other stakeholders to resolve all contending issues.
“To this end, the PDP GOVERNORS’ FORUM has scheduled an emergency meeting to discuss the affairs of the Party and the way forward.
“The PDP as the only remaining hope of the nation for good governance must show an example to Nigerians and also take advantage of the current disarray in the APC and its rudderless government,” the statement read.
