Nnamdi Kanu: Lawyer Sends Tough Message from Earth as Situation Intensifies

Amid a lingering allegation of deliberate execution of various strategies to undermine the fundamental rights of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, the Lead Counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor Esq has described it as uncalled-for and unacceptable delay tactics adopted by the Nigeria Government in handling his client’s case.

This was made known by Barrister Ejimakor Esq, in sequel to the press release addressing the exigent need to fasten the case of Kanu and allow justice to prevail.

Ejimakor Esq after the Legal team’s routine visit to the IPOB’s leader at Kuje Correctional Centre where he has been detained for about two years stated that the continuous negligence displayed by the FG is a clear indication that the Nigerian Government is determined to keep Kanu in detention indefinitely.

Meanwhile, the lPOB leader who condemned the strange delay in transmitting his case file from the Supreme Court to the Federal High Court stated that such can not be acceptable any longer.

“Sequel to the legal Team’s meeting with @MNK today, it needs to be stated that without any date set for his trial, he is a victim of false imprisonment by the Nigerian government. The new game is that he’s being denied the real trial that will accord him the avenue to clear his name.”

The fate of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra is seemingly hanging on a simple pendulum held by the court and controlled by the Nigerian Government. The situation if remains unabated would generate several worrisome questions about the role of the judicial system and the hope of the common man in society.

Has Nnamdi Kanu had a case to answer, why would the Nigerian Government entertain delay tactics in handling his case, and why has the court not announced any date for the commencement of the trial of the IPOB’s leader?
