Nigerian Pastor Loses Life in His Church—Police
In the rural community of Omitoto, Osun State, Moris Fadehan, a 65-year-old pastor in charge of the Celestial Church of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish, was found dead under mysterious and violent circumstances.
The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the pastor’s death, which occurred within the premises of his church around 10 am on Monday.
The suspect in this disturbing case, identified as Lekan Ogundipe, was one of the pastor’s assistants. He is reported to have alerted others, including the church’s founder, claiming that Pastor Fadehan was “being burnt by fire.” This led to the discovery of the pastor’s partially burnt remains in a pool of blood, with evident marks of violence on his body, suggesting a brutal attack.
Yemisi Opalola, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun Police Command, announced in a statement on Tuesday that the suspect was arrested at the crime scene. She further stated that the remains of Pastor Fadehan have been moved to the morgue of the OAU Teaching Hospitals Complex for a thorough autopsy, as the police delve into an in-depth investigation of this tragic event.
