Motorcyclist, passenger die in Jigawa accidents
A motorcyclist and a passenger have been killed in two different accidents in Taura and Janun Local Governments of Jigawa State.
Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incidents to newsmen.
He said the first accident occurred yesterday at about 2030hrs at Dan dangale village, Taura LGA, involving a Golf 3 Wagon with reg no. AH 295 AKK, driven by one Bayale Adamu ‘m’ age 30yrs old of Dawara Damagun LGA Yobe State.
Shiishi explained that on reaching Dan Dangale village, the vehicle knocked down a 35-year-old cyclist, one Ado Alasan conveying two passengers while trying to cross the road.
He said as a result, the cyclist and his passengers sustained serious injuries and they were rushed to Federal Medical Center B/Kudu for treatment.
The cyclist Ado Alasan died while receiving treatment.
The Jigawa State Police spokesman said the second accident happened on Monday along Kafin Hausa/Jahun Road involving a Motorcycle Boxer driver and his passenger.
According to him, on reaching Government Girls’ Science Secondary School Jahun, the passenger, one Fatsima Dahiru, 25yrs old from Lautai village Jahun LGA, fell down from the motorcycle. As a result, she sustained various degree of injuries all over her body.
Shiisu said the victim was immediately conveyed to Jahun General Hospital for treatment and that she later died while receiving medication.
