Manchester United qualify for Champions league
Manchester United are back in the Champions League after defeating Leicester on the final day of the Premier League season.
Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard ensured the Reds ended the season in third, level on points with Chelsea but ahead of Frank Lampard’s men on goal difference.
The season isn’t over just yet as United are still fighting for the Europa League trophy. They face LASK in the round of 16 second-leg at Old Trafford on August 5 looking to book their place in the quarter-final of the competition.
After the game, Solskjaer praised his side’s efforts to finish in the top four. He said: “I think the boys have helped us to a great achievement. From where we were earlier in the season, to finish third is a fantastic by them.” On the transfer front, United are still prioritising the signing of Jadon Sancho despite links with Kingsley Coman
