Bola Tinubu Emerges APC Presidential Candidate

Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket. The APC national leader polled 1,271 votes to defeat 13 other aspirants, including a former Transport Minister, Rotimi Ameachi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who scored 316 and 235 votes respectively. Naija News reports that with Tinubu’s victory, he will square up against PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi and NNPP’s Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Tinubu: Atiku Abubakar Calls PDP Governors For Emergency Meeting

Hours after the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar is in an emergency with Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Naija News gathered that the meeting was called by Atiku, the presidential candidate of the PDP. The meeting is reportedly holding at the PDP campaign headquarters, Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja. Notice of the meeting was signed by the Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, CID Maduabum. “The presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON requests a meeting with PDP Governors” the notice stated. Although the notice did not specify the agenda, party sources told The Nation that the PDP stakeholders might have called the meeting to discuss the implications of the outcome of the APC presidential primaries. APC Presidential Primary: Amaechi Beats Osinbajo To Emerge Second

Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari has emerged second in the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress. The former Governor of Rivers State scored 316 votes in the ongoing presidential primary of the party held at the Eagles Square in Abuja. The Vice President who contested in the race on Tuesday/Wednesday polled 235 votes. The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan on Wednesday polled 101 votes. 2023 Presidency: Atiku Reacts As Tinubu Wins APC Ticket

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Bola Tinubu in the just concluded presidential primary of the ruling party. Naija News reports that Tinubu on Wednesday won APC’s presidential ticket with a wide margin to defeat the likes of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who came third in the race and former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi who came second. Atiku had through his official Twitter handle earlier, mocked the ruling party for allegedly failing to fulfil the promises made to Nigerians in the 2015 elections. The PDP presidential candidate added that the ruling party cannot gloss over its scorecard for the mandate Nigerians gave to the party. Tinubu’s Acceptance Speech After Winning APC Primaries

2023 Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted his victory at the party’s national convention which was concluded today in Abuja. Naija News reports that Tinubu on Wednesday won APC’s presidential ticket, defeating Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in a landslide. Osinbajo came third in the contest while former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi came second after Tinubu. In his acceptance speech shortly after the announcement of his victory, Tinubu thank God for the success of the exercise saying “today is another historic day and it is thanks to God almighty that you are living healthy to witness it, to be part of it, to be your calling, to be your arrangement.” He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his contribution to the smooth running and conduction of the presidential primaries. APC Presidential Primaries: List Of Aspirants Who Scored Zero Vote

The Presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been concluded. At the end of the exercise, former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu polled 1149 votes to clinch the presidential ticket of the ruling party. However, the most surprising results for most Nigerians were that of three of the 14 presidential aspirants who contested the primaries. The three aspirants scored zero votes, thereby failed to secure any vote from the over 2,000 delegates who voted in the election. Drama As Rivers PDP Gubernatorial Candidate Escapes EFCC Arrest

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly made a failed attempt to arrest the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Siminialayi Fubara. According to The PUNCH, the drama occurred at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Tuesday night. Recall that the EFCC had declared Fubara, the immediate past Accountant General of Rivers state and three other government officials wanted over alleged N117 billion fraud. It was gathered that as the plane conveying Fubara and other PDP chieftains who had accompanied him to Abuja to receive his Certificate of Return touched down at the airport the EFCC operatives moved to arrest him. But some youths who were at the airport to receive the PDP candidate allegedly resisted the officials and attacked them, which resulted in some of the EFCC operatives sustaining injuries. Read more.

Richard Akinnola, the spokesperson of the campaign organisation of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has congratulated the former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu. Osinbajo’s spokesman congratulated Tinubu in a post on his Facebook account, he wrote, “Congratulations, Asiwaju Tinubu, the presumed winner of the primaries. “In any contest, there must be a winner. However, I’m very proud of my choice of support in the person of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. “I have no iota of regret over my support for him. It was a privilege to play a pivotal role for him during the process. I would gladly do it over and over again. What Ganduje Said About Tinubu’s Emergence As APC Presidential Candidate

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has expressed delight with the emergence of former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ganduje said Tinubu’s victory at the APC presidential primary election shows that the ruling party is ready to retain power in 2023. He said Tinubu has the capacity to provide the needed leadership that would consolidate and continue to ensure the country’s democratic gains. The Kano Governor made this known in a congratulatory message personally signed by him on Wednesday in Abuja. Ganduje opined that the emergence of Tinubu as the APC standard bearer in the 2023 general election would be a victory for the Nigeria project.
