Insecurity: Soludo Reviews Situation in Eight Local Government Areas in Anambra, Extolls Effort of Nigeria Armed Forces, State Vigilante Group, Others
The issue of insecurity in the southeastern region of Nigeria especially in Anambra has upon the assumption of office by the Governor of the state, Profesor Chukwuma Soludo, received wrapped attention.
Consequently, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has appreciated the efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces, as well as the state Vigilante Group, for fighting to liberate the eight local government areas which were largely under the captivity of criminal non-state actors.
Governor Soludo gave the appreciation during a thanksgiving mass to commemorate the Armed Forces Day at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka.
According to the Governor, the professionalism and commitment of the Armed Forces, as well as the support from the State Vigilante Group and ndị Anambra, aided the return of peace to the state.
Governor Soludo lauded those who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, saying that the role of security officials remains pivotal in peace and progress, praying for God’s protection as they continue to serve the people.
While delivering the homily, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Rev. Fr. Charles Ndubuisi said that God is on the lookout for people he will use to serve the people, tasking the people an increased purpose in their daily activities.
The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Chief Judge of the state, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, service commanders, members of the executive, legislature, and judiciary, among others, were also part of the mass celebration.
