Gunmen abduct three family members in Abuja, demand N50m ransom
Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday reportedly abducted three family members in Pegi, a town in Kuje area council of the federal capital territory (FCT).
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that a mother and two daughters were abducted when the gunmen stormed their home in the early hours of Sunday.
According to report, the attackers pulled down the barb wire from the fence and broke the windows before gaining entry into the house.
The head of the family of the abducted persons identified as Gabriel Oladapo, a pastor, was reportedly out of Abuja when the attack happened.
Speaking on the sad development, the police public relations officer in FCT, Daniel Ndipaya confirmed the incident on Monday.
He said the command will ensure the release of the victims unhurt.
“Efforts are being made by the Command to ensure victims are rescued,” he said.
The kidnappers have reportedly demanded the sum of N50 million as ransom.
According to Daily Trust newspaper, the abductors contacted the family of the victims, initially demanded N100 million but later reduced it to N50 million.
