Ex-Napoli Star Happy Over Victor Osimhen’s Move To Galatasaray

Former Italian winger Lorenzo Insigne has expressed his contentment about Victor Osimhen‘s move to Galatasaray from Napoli.

Osimhen made the switch to Galatasaray on loan in September after his attempts to secure a transfer to Al-Ahli and Chelsea fell through.

Insigne mentioned that Osimhen has the autonomy to make his decisions in an interview with Italian publication, Il Corriere dello Sport.

“I didn’t expect it. Victor is smart, and I am sure he made his own choices”, he said.

Having played alongside Osimhen during their time at Napoli, Insigne is pleased that his former teammate has joined another former Napoli star in Turkey.

Insigne said he is happy for Osimhen, particularly as he will now have the opportunity to play alongside 37-year-old Belgian forward, Dries Mertens who was his partner at Napoli.

The former Italy international said, “I don’t know what happened with Napoli, but I’m happy for him, especially because he’ll play with Mertens. I can see that they have fun together.”

Osimhen has made one appearance for Galatasaray with one assist since he joined the club earlier this September. He is expected to be in action at 6 p.m. tonight when Galatasaray takes on their fierce rival, Fenerbahçe.
