Ekwunife joins Anambra Guber race, says ‘PDP consensus arrangement too late’
Senator Uche Ekwunife, Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly on Tuesday formally joined the Anambra State governorship race.
Ekwunife submitted her nomination form at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja.
The PDP chieftain said it was too late for the PDP to choose a consensus candidate.
She said “I am running to win, I don’t see how consensus arrangement will work.”
Ekwunife said she’s confidence of beating other aspirants to clinch the PDP ticket.
The lawmaker promised to remain in the PDP if she doesn’t win the ticket for the November 6 gubernatorial election.
Highlighting her programmes for the state, she promised to reform the security architecture of the state and to continue to empower women if elected.
