There are different trading blocs in the world including the Association of South East Asian Nations ASEAN, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation APEC, the European Union EU, the North America Free Trade Agreement NAFTA, the Commonwealth of Independent States CIS, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa COMESA, among others.

However, the Eastern Bloc, also known as the Communist Bloc, the Socialist Bloc, and the Soviet Bloc, was the coalition of communist states of Central and Eastern Europe, East Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America under the power of the Soviet Union that existed during the Cold War (1947–1991).

These states pursued the principles of Marxism–Leninism, in opposition to the capitalist Western Bloc.
Many countries of the world are still wowed by the rejigging strength of the Eastern bloc long after the Cold War.
