Buhari’s Minister Declares Gubernatorial Ambition
One of President Muhammadu Buhari’s relatively unknown ministers, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, has declared his intention to run for the Abia governorship race in 2023.
Naija News reports that the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development declared his 2023 governorship aspiration on Wednesday in the presence of his kinsmen. Ogah said he will be contesting for the governorship seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The minister made this known while hosting his kinsmen at his country home in Onuaku Uturu in Isiukwato Local Government Area of the state. He stated that his decision to join the governorship race was a result of the call by his kinsmen. The minister, however, inaugurated the executives’ members of Abia Rejoice, a Campaign group. Meanwhile, residents have been left in wonder after suspected armed robbers left their mobile phones at the home of their victims in Delta State. It was gathered that the criminals had stormed the house of one Bishop Tina Ebireri in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state and robbed her, taking away also her mobile phone. According to reports, the incident happened on April 9, 2022. The report claimed that the suspects trailed the female cleric from her church at Ebrumede roundabout in Uvwie Local Government Area to the entrance of her compound on a fateful day. They reportedly demanded her mobile phone and shot and wounded her. However, after the attacks, they left their mobile phone and their tricycle behind. The mobile phone belonging to the suspected armed robbers was promptly recovered by the Police in Agbarho Community.
