BREAKING:President Bola Tinubu Declares April 7 National Police Day

In a landmark announcement at the Nigeria Police Force’s inaugural awards ceremony in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, declared April 7 as National Police Day.

The event, themed “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force,” highlighted the essential role of the police in maintaining safety and security across the nation, despite the increasing pressure on Nigeria’s security infrastructure. Vice President Shettima emphasized the endurance of Nigerian citizens in the face of ongoing threats, attributing their resilience to the steadfast dedication of the police force.

The administration has been clear about its mission to reform the Nigeria Police Force into an entity that reflects the nation’s aspirations and values. This transformation encompasses significant investments in training and capacity-building to arm the police with the necessary knowledge, skills, and expertise required for contemporary law enforcement challenges.
