Aziegbemi Reacts To His Suspension As Edo PDP Chairman

Embattled Tony Aziegbemi has reacted to his suspension as the Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Aziegbemi in his reaction, described the news of his suspension as fake news.

Naija News earlier reported that the Edo State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended the party Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, over alleged misconduct which has caused disaffection within the party.

The party in a statement released through its publicity secretary, Chris Nehikhare, noted that the decision was reached at the State Working Committee meeting held at the state party secretariat on Tuesday, with a two-third majority of members resolving in a motion that the state chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, should step aside from his position.

The party leaders also resolved that the State Deputy Chairman, Harrison Omagbon, will act as chairman until the determination of the allegations levied against Aziegbemi.

However, reacting to the allegation against him in a telephone chat with AIT, Aziegbemi maintained that he remains the state chairman of Edo PDP.

He added that no decision to suspend him was taken during the last state executive meeting held on June 1 2021.

Meanwhile, a prominent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari and a former National Chairman of the Buhari Organization (TBO), Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwamanda has emerged as a factional leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State.

Announcing the split of the APC in Kano State, Kwamanda explained that the actions of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC State caretaker Chairman Abdullahi Abbas and some other party leaders in the state is responsible for the split.

He accused them of blocking other interested persons from contesting positions in the state to favour their own preferred candidates.

Kwamanda, therefore, announced a new APC Akida, splitting the party into two factions in Kano.
