APC Will Win Osun 2022 Governorship Poll – Famodun Boasts
The Chairman, Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Gbenga Famodun, has boasted that the incumbent Governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola will retain the seat of power.
Famodun boasts that the forthcoming 2022 gubernatorial election in the state will be in favour of the ruling party.
Naija News reports that the politician stated this on Monday, January 25 after the state youths wing from the three senatorial districts declared support for the re-election of Governor Oyetola.
Famodun said the incumbent leader has the backing of the APC to rule the state for another term, adding that all the indices have been indicating that victory was sure for him.
“We foresee nothing but absolute victory at the polls. And we are very confident about it. I am a core politician and we have been operating in this state for quite some time. We are looking at all the indices that win elections, and they are all with APC in the state,” Famodun said.
He added: “More importantly, what we are doing today is an endorsement of the youths for the governor for a second term.”
The APC chairman reassured citizens of the state that the party and its candidate will not fail them.
Meanwhile, the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been warned that a previous statement credited to him in which he said he doesn’t believe in one Nigeria may scuttle his chances of becoming president in 2023.
To this end, Tinubu has been told to apologize to Nigerians now that he is gunning to become the president of a united Nigeria.
Naija News reports that the challenge was made by a chieftain of the APC, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga while speaking with newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital on behalf of some APC stakeholders in the state and some northern states.
Tinubu had in an interview with Thisday publication of April 13, 1997, said he doesn’t believe in one Nigeria.
“I don’t believe in one Nigeria,” he was quoted to have said.
Speaking to journalists on the matter, Zazzaga said the failure of Tinubu to apologize will affect his chances and that of the APC as well in the 2023 elections and therefore urged him to do the honourable thing by apologizing.
