APC Fixes Form Prices, Dates For Osun, Ekiti Guber Primaries
Ahead of its governorship primaries in Osun and Ekiti States, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed the date for the conduct of the exercises.
Naija News reports that the ruling party also fixed the prices of its nomination and expression of interest forms for the two elections.
The prices and dates were disclosed in a timetable and schedule of activities released on Tuesday by the National Secretary of APC Caretaker Committee, John Akpanudode.
According to the APC scribe, the notice of the Osun governorship election to the state chapter will hold on Wednesday, November 17, while the sale of form will begin at APC National Secretariat on Thursday, November 18.
He said the primary election for Osun would hold on Saturday, March 5, 2022, while the election appeal would hold on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
The APC scribe added that the last day for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents for the election would be on Friday, February 18, 2022, while screening of aspirants will hold on Feb.22, 2022
Akpanudode said the notice of the Ekiti governorship election to the state chapter will hold on Monday, November 15, while the sale of form will begin at APC National Secretariat on Tuesday, November 16.
He added that the primary election for Ekiti will hold on Saturday, January 22, 2022, while the election appeal will take place on Wednesday, Jan.26, 2022.
The APC scribe said the last day for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents for the election would be on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, while screening of aspirants would hold on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Akpanudode stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed June 18 and July 16, 2022, to conduct the elections in Ekiti and Osun States respectively.
He explained that the timeline approved by the APC leadership was released in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines.
On the price of its nomination and expression of interest forms, Akpanudodehe said the nomination form would cost N20 million, while the expression of interest form would cost N2.5 million per aspirant.
He pointed out that the party also approved a 50 percent reduction in nomination form fees for female and physically challenged aspirants.
