APC Alleges Opposition’s Hand in Stirring Protests Against Tinubu’s Government, Takes Strong Measures

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has pointed fingers at opposition parties, accusing them of being behind the recent protests in Niger and Kano States, which were sparked by the growing hardships and the increasing cost of living.

The ruling party made this known following the 14-day Ultimatum issued to the President, Bola Tinubu by NANS.

According to the APC, this is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, suggesting it’s underperforming.

Recent reports highlighted that Niger State witnessed protests by youths and women against what they perceived as the hoarding and exportation of food items, exacerbating the already dire living conditions. Similarly, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has voiced its frustration over inflation and threatened to protest if the government does not intervene. The protests have been met with police intervention, which has further highlighted the tense situation across the country.

Osun State residents have also raised alarms over the worsening economic situation, urging President Tinubu and governors to take swift action to repair the economy. The high cost of food items and the inability to afford daily meals have pushed many to the brink, with warnings of potential widespread protests if conditions do not improve.

In Kano State, Governor Abba Yusuf expressed concern over the dire living conditions, pointing out the mismatch between inflation rates and incomes that have led to deaths and widespread misery.

However, the APC, through its National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, has responded to these events by cautioning Nigerians against being swayed by what it describes as the opposition’s attempts to instigate unrest for political gain. The party argues that the concurrent protests in Minna and Kano are not coincidental but rather a calculated move by opposition parties to sow discord and undermine national security.

The APC asserts that while the right to peaceful protest is acknowledged, citizens should remain vigilant and not fall prey to manipulative tactics aimed at destabilizing the country. The party reaffirms President Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the nation’s economic challenges through crucial reforms, urging patience and support from the populace.

In conclusion, the APC calls on Nigerians to reject the opposition’s efforts to disrupt the peace and security of the nation for selfish political objectives. The party emphasizes the importance of standing united with the government to ensure the successful implementation of policies that will lead to sustainable prosperity and improvement in the living conditions of all Nigerians.
