Anambra Govt Seals Off Cosmila Hotels Over Alleged Murder of Ms. Chinyere Awuda
Anambra State Govt today Thursday, July, 20, 2023 sealed off the Cosmila Hotels facilities pending the outcome of investigation to the murder of one Ms. Chinyere Awuda who was allegedly killed within the hotel premises and her body dumped in an abandoned swimming pool in the premises.
The Commissioner for Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji while addressing the press stated that it is sad that the hotel has not registered with the Ministry of Entertainment and Tourism to enable the ministry to monitor its activities.
He added that having operated illegally and now this happened, the hotel will not be open until the police finish their investigation and thereby bring all the culprits to this heinous act to justice.
De Erudite Media earlier reported the ugly incident that occurred on Saturday at Awka.
Consequently, the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority MD/CEO, Mr. Ossy Onuko called on hoteliers in the state capital to try as much as possible to regulate the activities happening in their facility to conform with the acceptable standard and they must identify with the Ministry of Entertainment and tourism in the state.
The facility which look almost deserted had in it the operational manager, Mr Stanley Akunezili who claimed he wasn’t around at the time the incident happened but was briefed by the club manager who is not available at the time of filing this report.
The Cosmila Cinema, Cosmila Dfame Lounge (the club), Cosmila Unisex Salon, Cosmila lodging and accommodation buildings and other of its facilities will remained closed by order of the Anambra State Govt pending outcome of police investigation regarding the killing Ms Awuda at the hotel premises.
