2023: Wike, Makinde, Tambuwal, Other PDP Governors Meet Today
Governor elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will today, Monday, meet in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement issued on Sunday by the Director-General of the PDP Governors Forum, CID Maduabum.
The opposition party disclosed that its governors would be discussing Nigeria’s precarious situation.
Other issues on the agenda include emerging threats to democracy, the rule of law, and constitutionalism in Nigeria.
Maduabum stated that the governors would also discuss how to continue with good governance measures in their respective states.
According to him, the PDP governors pledged to provide the needed platform for the party to return to power at the federal level in 2023.
Meanwhile, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has vowed that the opposition will stage a comeback in 2023.
Recall that the PDP was defeated at the federal level in 2015 by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at a state banquet organised by the Akwa Ibom government on Sunday, Tambuwal assured Nigerians that the main opposition party would not disappoint Nigerians.
He said: “These star-studded leaders of PDP governors in their respective states and political generals are determined by the grace of God through your prayers, support, and cooperation, to rescue Nigeria.
“It is a task that we must accomplish to the glory of God and his glory alone.
“God on our side, we are determined as leaders, to provide that platform for the emergence of another PDP leadership in this country, come 2023.”
