2023 Presidency: Dokpesi Says Only Atiku Can Defeat Tinubu
Popular businessman, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has declared that only one person has the coverage, support, and resources to challenge the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
According to Dokpesi, only former Vice President Atiku Abubakar can challenge and defeat Tinubu at the polls.
Naija News reports Dokpesi said this when he led a delegation of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Caretaker Committee to Anambra State where they met with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2021 Anambra guber, Valentine Ozigbo.
It was gathered that Ozigbo received the delegation at his Amesi home in Aguata Local government area of the state on Saturday.
Speaking during the visit, Dokpesi revealed that the delegation was in Anambra to inform the people about the interest of Atiku Abubakar in contesting the 2023 presidency and to seek their support.
He said “the Waziri (Atiku) is the right person that could match Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu” should he eventually emerge as the presidential candidate of APC.”
He promised the people of Anambra and the entire southeast that Atiku will protect their interest if he eventually emerges president of Nigeria in 2023.
“We have come to seek and solicit your support for the presidential aspiration of Waziri Atiku Abubakar and to assure you that Atiku Abubakar is in the best position to unify Nigeria and protect the interest of his in-laws (Ndigbo),” Chief Dokpesi said.
He added that Ozigbo is a dogged fighter whose light can’t be stopped from shining despite losing the 2021 Anambra gubernatorial polls.
In his speech during the visit, Ozigbo while appreciating the delegation for the visit, pointed out that the credentials of Atiku as a leader are not in doubt but called attention to the calls for the presidency to shift to the south.
“There is a need to note the sensitivity around the clamour for power shift,” he observed.
He described the issue of zoning as “sensitive” and called for more consultations ahead of the 2023 general elections.
It was gathered that many PDP stalwarts in the state were present at the meeting.
