2023: Obi Bids For New Nigeria, Makes Bogus Promises In Benue

AHEAD of the 2023 General Election, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi has promised to eradicate mass poverty and criminalities in Nigeria, if elected.

He said this on Wednesday during his presidential campaign rally at the Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) square in Makurdi, capital city of Benue.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, Mr Obi guaranteed to positively empower the youths to enable them to acquire skills for self-reliance and growth.

Similarly, he decried the lingering woes bedeviling various sectors and promised to invest heavily in education in order to ensure that unemployment became history in Nigeria.

The former governor of Anambra also pledged to ensure that the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) receive quick restitution to their ancestral homes, by his administration’s eagerness to address the security challenges rocking the country, especially Benue state.

“We will secure and bring peace to Benue so that those at the IDP camps will go back to their homes and farms and we will support them in production.

“Benue will be supported to become an exporting state considering that it is an agriculturally rich state,” Obi said.

He further promised that Rivers Benue and Niger would be dredged to enhance water transportation in Nigeria, promising also to end crude oil theft in the country for the benefit of all Nigerians.

“With Obi and Datti, a new Nigeria is possible and I dare to say that Nigerians can hold me responsible if we do not turn Nigeria around for good,” he said.
