2023: Atiku’s Camp Abandons Him, Endorses ‘Sincere Candidate’ For Presidency
Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, a pro-Atiku Support group known as Atiku State of Mind has publicly pulled out its support for former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, in place of the candidate of African Democratic Congress, Professor Kingsley Moghalu.
The group who were part of the support groups for Atiku’s presidential bid in 2019, through their president, Pharm Hassan Ankunma, in a statement on Friday said the decision to dump the former president came from the place of new information and realizations as they made a mistake in the past looking to support candidates from the two major parties as though they alone exist in a vacuum. In a statement signed by the national coordinator, Atiku State of Mind Support Group, Hassan, stated that the reason the group is transitioning from Atiku state of Mind to Moghalu state of mind is because they want a state of mind that is healthy for Nigerians, one that can guarantee the electoral promises that will be made. The statement reads in part, “We dont want a leader who ceded his authority to ruthless CABALS and family members who have absolute disregard for the rights of citizens. We will not accept a leader who treats women like commodities, marrying from different regions, not because of love but for political mileage. Prof Kingsley Moghalu is a sincere man and we trust him.”
