US-based Nigerian Bodybuilder, Michael Chidozie Dies Weeks After Being Shot by Wife

US-based Nigerian bodybuilder Michael Chidozie tragically passed away weeks after being shot by his wife, Keaiirra Shavoiyae Chidozie, during a heated argument at their Houston, Texas apartment.

The altercation escalated when Keaiirra used a handgun to shoot Michael multiple times. Following the shooting, police discovered Michael severely wounded in a nearby parking lot, where Keaiirra was found in a state of panic with their children, ages three and two. Michael was immediately transported to Ben Taub Hospital but succumbed to his injuries 18 days later, suffering from a severe spinal injury that ultimately led to complications and his death.

Keaiirra, who was arrested and charged with the shooting, claimed she acted in self-defense, fearing for her life during the dispute. Details of what specifically sparked the argument remain unclear. After being detained, Keaiirra was released on bail and is scheduled for a court appearance on May 23.

Meanwhile, the couple’s children have been placed in the care of a family member.
