US-based Doctor Set to Launch Nigeria’s Tallest University in Anambra
The ambitious project of the Transatlantic Medicine and Health Science University in Umuchukwu, Anambra, led by the renowned US-based medical doctor and philanthropist, Dr. Godwin Maduka, is on the verge of being unveiled.
A delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC), headed by Executive Secretary Mr. Chris Maiyaki, recently visited the site and praised the quality of the construction work, marking a brilliant step towards the university’s opening.
This landmark institution represents Dr. Maduka’s vision of contributing to Nigeria’s educational and medical sectors, drawing on his extensive experience from operating six hospitals in the US. The initiative aims to combat the brain drain in the healthcare industry by providing local experts with opportunities for growth and development.
One of the most striking features of the proposed university is a 17-storey building, which will stand as the tallest building across the South East and South South regions. The campus is also set to include residences for principal officers, lecture theaters, administrative offices, hostels, and other essential facilities.
The Transatlantic Medicine and Health Science University will offer programs in pharmacy, dental, nursing, radiology technology, among other allied health and research disciplines.
