Tributes and Condolences as Ezeani Obiakonze Of Ichida Buries Father, Ichie Nzeakonobi (Oba of Anaocha).
Thursday 24th February 2022, Ichida Community was agog with activities as one of the foremost personalities in Ichida Kingdom and Anaocha Local government was laid to rest. Chief Sir Engr. (Dr) Basil Chukwura Ezeaniekwe, Ichie Nzeakonobi of Ichida and Oba of Anaocha LGA who died in December 2021 at the age of 70yrs, was laid to rest on the 24th of February 2022 amidst mournings and condolences from different sectors of the society.
The septuagenarian who was a former manager at NNPC was said to have touched a lot of lives and invested so much in human capital in his community and beyond as well as structurally for the betterment of the masses, hence it was no surprise that people from all walks of life would troupe out en mass to pay him last respect. As a member of the king’s cabinet, he was said to have been peace-loving and people-friendly and honest in his dealings and approach to issues.
In the burial/requiem mass officiated by the bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, the bishop extolled the piety, supportive nature and fatherly love the late Knight of St. Mulumba showed to the people around him. His love for things of God was also very noticeable during his lifetime.
The burial saw the presence of notable dignitaries and associations such as the order of knight of St. Mulumba who came out in their numbers to pay their last respect to their brother who is a 4th Degree member of the Order; Member representing Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia federal constituency in the house of representatives Hon. Chief Dozie Nwankwo who came to condole with the family of his late friend and associate; The Igwe of Ichida HRM Sir Charles Ezudogu (KSS); High Chief Inno-Posh Chiekezie (Ochendo Anaocha), High Chief H.I Uba (Ugogboha Ichida); Anaocha LGA Chairman Hon. Chief Estate Onyedum; APGA Anaocha Chairman Chief Obiadi; NNPC delegates and associates, Ndi Ichie, Nze na Ozo council of chiefs amongst others.
