Trafficking: FCT Police Arrest Pastor, Two Others, Rescue 12 Children
The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has apprehended a pastor and two individuals for their alleged involvement in the trafficking of twelve children.
Josephine Adeh, the Command’s spokesperson, announced that the operation was carried out by the Rapid Response Squad 74 (RRS 74).
The incident occurred on Friday, February 9, 2024, around 12:55 am, when Muhammad Isah from Kafanchan, Kaduna, was stopped. He was transporting twelve children, four boys and eight girls, aged between 5 and 16 years, from Akwanga Local Government Area in Nasarawa State to Ogun State in a Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number APP 489 XE.
Consequently, the investigation indicated that the children were being trafficked by Pastor Simon Kado and Jesse Simon Kado, who are now in custody.
The police are working closely with the Nasarawa State Police Command to ensure the children are returned to their families.
CP Benneth C. Igweh, the FCT Police Commissioner, emphasized the importance of resident safety and encouraged the public to report any suspicious behavior to the police’s emergency contact numbers.
