Recall that 27 lawmakers announced their defection from the PDP to the APC last weekend which had triggered mixed reactions from all and sundry.
This came a few minutes after the demolition of the House of Assembly complex started.
This is a sequel to the moment Governor Fubara and Wike met at the rededication service of the 2023/2024 Legal Year at the Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt.
The tussle might have exceeded the verbal strength, consequently, leading to alleged attacks and threats to life. Meanwhile, the case was adjourned to December 5, 2023.
The attack which occurred during a demonstration at the State Assembly complex in Port Harcourt has triggered mixed reactions.
The command said the protesters were led by the State Chairman of the National Youths Council of Nigeria, . Chijioke Ihunwo.
“Wike was governor for 8 years, I opposed his government but he never sent anyone to come and kill me. But this one that just started fighting me from day one, now he wants my help…” He said
The lawmakers also suspended the leader of the House, Edison Ehie, and some of their colleagues believed to be loyal to the governor.
The governor while condemning the arsonists who razed the complex he visited, asks disgruntled lawmakers to show justification for his impeachment plot.
What has Governor Fubara done wrong? Refusing to be further “remote controlled”? Clark questions…
He said, “Rivers State is one of the states that have implemented the new salary structure, the state is in full practice of the new salary scale, the issue of pension and gratuity are ongoing, the records are there, the issue of employment is also ongoing, we are fulfilling our part of the bargain to take care of the workers”.
He has repeatedly opted for reconciliation with the party leaders both at the state and national, which didn’t go down well with Port Harcourt’s hitman.
