Justice Rahman Oshodi, who delivered the 324-page judgment, also sentenced the embattled bishop to three years’ imprisonment for sexually assaulting another member of the church, aged 19.
“This man has a church and goes to the mountain with his female church members for prayers. But 99% of his church members are women who aren’t from the community.” He said
Upon the resumption of the court last Monday the accused was formally arraigned on two counts of rape.
“Some people are looking for my trouble. And I came here prepared.” He said teasingly.
“Church General Overseer busted! You go to seek refuge in the House of God and there the shepherd recruits you into drug trafficking,” he said
He has reportedly ran back to his country-home, while the security agents go after him.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the church’s service, forcing members to desert the worship center.
