SHOCKING: Stray Dog Discovers, Rescues Abandoned Baby in Anambra Forest
A stray dog in Abagana, located within the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, has become an unlikely hero.
The dog, while scavenging for food in a nearby forest, stumbled upon an abandoned baby boy wrapped in a plastic bag. Demonstrating an incredible sense of duty, the dog carried the infant across a busy road, placing him where passersby could easily spot him, seemingly pleading for the baby’s rescue.
The miraculous find came just in time, as it was estimated that the baby had been left alone in the forest for around two days. The discovery was confirmed through a video circulating online, showing local women, believed to be midwives, tenderly cleaning the baby. Amidst their care, they expressed their shock and dismay at the act of abandoning the newborn, questioning how someone could carry a child for nine months only to discard them.
The video captured not only their efforts to clean and comfort the infant but also their gratitude towards the divine intervention that saved the child from potential harm. They appealed to others, urging that unwanted babies be given up for adoption rather than being left to fate in such a perilous manner.
As the community reels from this incident, the police have yet to make a statement. Attempts to reach Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra, for comments were unsuccessful.
