Remembrance Day: “Today marks 51 years since the end of the Biafran war” – See Flavour’s post that got the world’s reaction.

Today marks 51 years since the end of the Biafran War for Nigerians; a post-colonial war that took the lives of many Nigerians.

As the Igbo’s sought to break from being part of Nigeria, the war that took place between 1967 and 1970 made headlines all over the world.

The war finally ended after two and a half years of war. Reports confirmed that during the war, almost 2million Biafran civilians died from starvation caused by the total blockage of the region by the Nigerian government. Biafran forces having seen that they couldn’t withstand this ordeal, surrendered to the Nigerian Military and the war was ended immediately.

Well, Nigerian popular singer has just made a tweet to commemorate the fallen heroes of the war. See what he tweeted below that sparked reactions from many Nigerians;

he said and I quote;

“Today marks 51 years since the end of the Biafran war. To the fallen heroes, we will never forget you.”
