Nigeria Police Investigate Death of Oil Businessman, Wife over Alleged Cheating Incidents
In a shocking incident that has sent shivers through the community of Akure, Ondo State, authorities are delving deep into the death of well-known oil and gas businessman, Sesan Adelabu, and his wife, Bolu. Known within social circles as “Shessy Emirate,” Adelabu’s life came to a tragic end in what appears to be a murder-suicide case that occurred in the Alagbaka residence.
The sequence of events reportedly began unfolding when Adelabu discovered his wife in an alleged affair, leading to a violent confrontation.
Overwhelmed by anger, it was alleged that Adelabu attacked his wife with a machete, causing fatal injuries. Consequently, he is said to have consumed a lethal dose of an insecticide, Sniper, leading to his death.
Reacting to the development, the Ondo State Police, under the auspices of Commissioner Abayomi Oladipo, have taken swift action in response to this tragedy.

Upon arrival, police found Adelabu’s body in the bathroom and his wife’s body on their bed, bearing severe wounds believed to be inflicted by a machete. An empty container of Sniper nearby confirmed the grim outcome of the day’s events.
The bodies have since been transferred to a mortuary as investigations continue. This incident has left the community in shock, prompting a broader discussion on domestic violence and mental health. The police have vowed to thoroughly investigate the matter, as the community mourns the loss of two of its members in such a tragic manner.
