JUST IN: Innoson @ 13, Bags Double Awards
Standard Organisation of Nigeria, SON, has presented an indigenous automobile company, Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company Limited with a certificate of conformity to the requirements of International Standard Organization, ISO 9001: 2015 quality management system standard.
The apex body overseeing quality assurance of products in Nigeria also presented the automobile company with International award of quality and certificate of revalidation.
The certificates came as the company marks the 13th anniversary of its existence.
Presenting the certificates, the Director General, Standard Organisation of Nigeria, Dr Ifeanyi Okeke represented by Director, South East Region, Engr. Fred Akingbesote noted that Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company has been consistent in pursuit of service and product excellence, thus the deserving certificates.
According to him, ISO 9001: 2015 as the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system has strengthened the company’s efficiency, organizational culture and regulatory compliance.
He noted that the services of the company is extremely important to Nigeria, especially in the face of prevailing economic challenges facing the country and competitiveness in the market, adding that adopting a more innovative approach which the ISO 9001: 2015 provides will help the organization navigate through any period of disruption.
He congratulated the company on the milestone achieved in the past 13 years and encouraged them to sustain the tempo.
Earlier in a welcome speech, the Chairman/CEO, Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company Limited, Chief Innocent Chukwuma who spoke through the Head of Corporate Communications, Innoson Vehicles, Mr Cornel Osigwe said that the past 13 years has been a pursuit of perfection and assured to keep producing quality Nigeria-made vehicles.
He noted that the certificate in an indication that the company has continued to uphold international standards of quality and excellence in all aspects of its operations and appreciated the federal, states governments, corporate bodies and individuals for their support.
The Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Engr Chris Obiorah while congratulating the company and the Chairman, Chief Chukwuma said that the company has truly impacted the society positively through creation of jobs, wealth and corporate social responsibility and encouraged other companies to emulate them.
The event held at Nnewi attracted top government functionaries, including the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, stakeholders of the company, business associates, family and friends.
Some staff members of Innoson Vehicles were recognized for their outstanding services to the growth of the company during the event.
